Byung-Hoon Kim, MD, PhD
Principal InvestigatorByung-Hoon Kim is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Systems Informatics at Yonsei University College of Medicine, jointly affiliated with the Department of Psychiatry. He received his MD from Yonsei University College of Medicine, where he also completed his MS and residency training in Psychiatry under the mentorship of Prof. Jae-Jin Kim. He received his PhD in Bio and Brain Engineering from KAIST, advised by Prof. Jong Chul Ye.
His research aims to 1) reveal the mechanisms of higher cognitive capabilities of the human brain and 2) promote human mental health, by integrating 1) neuroimaging, 2) AI, and 3) psychiatry, with current research interests including:
- Novel Methodologies for Multimodal Brain Representation Learning
- Generative Modeling of Brain Dynamics from Neuroimage/Neurophysiology Data
- Neuro-AI Representation Alignment and Distillation
- Multimodal Agents for Clinical Psychiatry
Byung-Hoon is also leading a team of AI Researchers and Engineers at EverEx along with Prof. Hyungjin Chung, with a focus on realizing human motion-centric video understanding and generation for healthcare applications, and beyond.
